DescriptionPhoto by Anne Mackintosh: "In 1990 Focus on Scotland commissioned me to paint Lady Thatcher, Mrs Thatcher as she was then. She sat for me in the white drawing room at No. 10. She couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. At one point she rushed off to get a brooch of Tay pearls [she called it the Scottish brooch], to wear on her jacket.
"I have met her on several occasions and each time she has been lovely. No sign of a handbag in sight!"
The portrait hangs in Lady Thatcher's home.
